Super stoked to see Karla and her team having not only opened their second premise in Eden Terrace but also having renovated their original Hillsborough bakery. Both spots are now ideal for enjoying a cupcake and a cup of tea. I've been eating and using her gorgeous cupcakes on shoots for many years now and love her edible flowers and fresh flavours. A winner!

I had my daughters birthday cake done here and my daughter loves Dora. When I went in to pick up the cake, it looked amazing, they done a really good job on the cake and even done little cup cakes around. My daughter didnt want anyone to eat her cake as she loved the craft work on the cake. The cake and cup cakes tasted so good and was really moist.

Making some of the cutest cupcakes and cakes in Auckland, Icing On The Cake, has perfected their American style cupcakes complete with frosting and sprinkles. Must try flavours are the delicious strawberry, jaffa and my favourite, raspberry lamington with vanilla bean frosting which is a true delight. Icing On The Cake also make full-size cakes to order in their great range of flavours. Make sure you try the fresh frozen yoghurt too, it's a perfect summer treat.

What’s not to love? If you are a fan of beautifully baked, deliciously naughty sweet treats then you need to check it out. I keep ordering the banana cake with toffee and cream, even on the week where I baked banana cake at home. There’s something about it. And the jam donuts. And the caramelised onion, blue cheese and beetroot tarts which are both tasty and filling. The great thing about trendy cafes with oodles of baked treats is its an appropriate date with your nana, your kids or your mates. This suburban spot is best visited on a sunny weekday morning so you can perch on a bench in the garden outside. Weekday is key, it’s far too crowded otherwise.

On the counter are the hidden gems of the fabulous Auckland cafe that is Odette’s. Yep they do cupcakes - big, generous, pretty as a picture cupcakes. In fact, I’d say they are some of the prettiest cupcakes in Auckland. I couldn’t help but snap them because they are so gorgeous and they taste just as good.

Known for their creative recipes and super fresh baking, Delish Cupcakes, are a true cake gem and have built up a loyal following over the past few years. Every single cupcake is baked fresh in store each day and carefully decorated by Delish's clever team, the flavours are all kinds of awesome with everything from classic chocolate with chocolate ganache to Perky Nana and Pinky Bar inspired cupcakes sure to please the kids or your inner child. I find it impossible to order just one with vanilla passionfruit and jersey caramel high on my list of favourites. If you're keen to unleash your inner baker they also offer cupcake making classes for adults and children which are a lot of fun and you leave with tasty treats to take home if they make it that long! They also make custom cakes and cupcakes to order which are definitely worth doing. If you can't make it to the shore you can order from them online too - no excuses not to try some, you'll be glad you did!

They have some fantastic standard flavours and are constantly coming up with exciting new limited edition flavours too - jelly tip, chilli chocolate and my personal favourite - salted caramel. Nutella goodness
So glad I emailed to make sure there would still be cupcakes left - got to try both the lemon curd and Nutella. Both delicious and Ann is lovely, must try !
