Happy gaming!

Kylie loved Auckland Domain

In the Auckland Domain lies one of New Zealand's hottest spots to catch Pokemon Go. Yep, they're hidden in and around the Wintergardens and just waiting to be caught. With regular Pokemon Go events planned to bring Auckland locals who love to play the game together, you'll find Poliwag, Venonat, Bellsprout, Pinsir, Paras, Ekans, Scyther, Growlithe and Voltorb.

Kylie loved White's & Co Britomart

Not only did my work local serve me up my favourite green smoothie today but I also discovered an awesome inside tip for Auckland locals who love Pokemon Go. This fantastic yoghurt and coffee stop in Britomart is giving a free coffee as a lure deal. That's because White's & Co sits between three key Pokestops in the Britomart area. They serve up Eighthirty coffee too so it's a very good deal.

Kylie loved Mount Maunganui

There's something a little different hatching atop of Mount Maunganui. Since Pokemon Go launched in New Zealand in July, "The Mount" is where many Bay of Plenty players have discovered characters to catch and eggs hatching. It's a steep walk up too so a great way to get a whole lot of exercise and enjoy a good hunt.

Kylie loved Hobbiton Movie Set and Farm Tours

It's official! Hobbits aren't big fans of Pokemon but there's a whole lotta lures here to catch the Pokemon you need to take you to another level. Talk about combining two fantasy worlds in one reality. No doubt the most surreal place in NZ to play Pokemon Go.

Kylie loved The Square

The Square is located bang-smack in the middle of Palmerston North and is a lovely, green, wide, open space. For Manawatu locals, it's also become the go-to spot in Palmy to play Pokemon Go. The duck pond is often the location of more than one lure.

Kylie loved Gisborne Botanical Gardens

Not only are the Gisborne Botanical Gardens one of the most picturesque places to enjoy the beginning of spring but according to locals, there's a hotbed of Pokemon Go characters to be found. Yep, there's lots of leaves rustling in this public park. But be warned! Gisborne locals have taken to Pokemon Go with gusto - it's one of the three regions in New Zealand where the augmented reality game is most popular.

Kylie loved Wellington Waterfront

With a coastal strip that runs all the way along the water, Wellington's waterfront is the ideal place to hunt for Pokemon Go on a sunny day. You'll have a good chance of nabbing Horsea, Magikarp, Goldeen, Seaking, Psyduck, Tentacool, Tentacruel, Poliwag, Golduck, Dratini and Dragonair. Or head to Oriental Bay. Some local ladies were so intrepid in their Pokemon Go chase that they kayaked out to its legendary fountain in the middle of the bay to claim a gym.

Kylie loved New Brighton's Seaside Market

I love the clever initiative of the team behind one of Christchurch's favourite local markets. Taking place every Saturday in New Brighton, the organisers attracted hordes of Pidgeys and Zubats after Pokemon Go lures were placed along New Brighton Mall during a recent Saturday market. With lots of Pokestops along the strip, lures meant lots of players were attracted to the area and shopped at the markets too. Genius!

Kylie loved Nugget Point

Rare Pokemon characters are well-known for loving lighthouses. No wonder then that Pikachu has been spotted hanging out at one of New Zealand's most famous - Nugget Point.
