Kylie loved Golden Dawn
Just as much of an Auckland institution in winter as its courtyard is in summer, Golden Dawn is a great place to secret away for a drink or three when the winter wind whistles through Ponsonby. I love that one of my favourite neighbourhood bars serves up some of the most spice-infused mulled wine during the cold months of June and July. The mulled wine is so good here they often run out so no better excuse to hit the bar early!
Kylie loved Montrose Cafe & Bar
If you're looking for a glass of mulled wine over the Bridge, Montrose Cafe does an excellent brew in Auckland's Mairangi Bay. Their mulled wine goes well with the winter dishes on the menu and it's a great way to finish up after a walk on the beach.
Coco's Cantina & Coco's Barretta, Auckland
Rocking out all year round, I love visiting Coco's in June when they start serving up their delicious mulled wine. Mulled wine and this favourite Auckland restaurant go together like polenta and the deep-fryer (Coco's polenta chips are another classic here!). Their infusion fills my insides with warmth and gives my exterior a real winter glow. If you do one thing in Auckland this winter, head to Coco's with a loved one and enjoy a few glasses of mulled wine.

Great for live music, even better for mulled wine. When it comes to a great winter brew, this K'Rd gem does some of the best mulled wine in the city. They source their wines locally and infuse it with a secret range of spices. It's a great idea for a Friday night with friends during the colder months. Come listen to some sweet tunes and imbibe in a glass of the good stuff. Heaven in the city!

Tucked away in Parnell, 46 & York is one of the places I love to come to drink mulled wine in winter. I love its brickwork exterior and its classically beautiful interior. But the reason to come here right now is that it's been so cold in Auckland, you need to find a place to hide away from the winter wind. And nowhere is more perfect than over a glass of mulled wine at this fantastic Parnell bar. It's a celebration of spices like star anise and cinnamon and they even are so decadent as to include honeycomb.
