Puhoi Cottage Tearooms, Puhoi
Popped into this calm, peaceful tea room for my father’s birthday. The friendly staff told us that this is the oldest tearoom in New Zealand. Indoor and outdoor seating with lots of fruit trees growing out back. Not much food to choose from but definitely give their scones a go! It’s delicious! My sister and mother loved their homemade pies as well. They also have gluten free items, and dont forget to try their tea!
Queenies Lunchroom, Auckland
A triumph of a cheese scone washed down with two flat white coffees got my morning off to a ripper of a start. Queenies is known in Ponsonby as being home to one of the best cheese scones in the local area. Oh and their date and orange is also pretty amazing too.

I just had my first Mary's experience - and it was awesome! The array of foods in the cabinets and on the counter, left me with too many options, I wanted everything. I settled on a chilli cheese scone and flat white. I was served by the loveliest lady, who was particularly patient with me and my indecisiveness and the service was efficient and fast. The coffee was one of the best I've ever had, it was hot and not burnt! and the chilli cheese scone was amazing! The flavours were a great combination and I'll definitelty be back for more.

You’d never guess it but one of the best and most intriguing flavours of scones can be found in Citizen Q - the cafe inside Q Theatre. Hubby and I visited for a quick bite before an event yesterday and enjoyed an incredible Parmesan and rocket scone. Who would have thought? Rocket finely chopped in chewy, fresh scone dough is a winner. And the Allpress latte was the right size and perfectly strong. Love it.

Three Beans is the new kid on the block, a fine addition to the Sheds at City Works Depot. Sit at the big communal table indoors, positioned to catch the morning sun, and enjoy a coffee and one of the delicious scones.
